Best known for supplying drugs to Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs in Times Square and as author of the Beat masterpiece, "The Evening Sun Turned Crimson." The drawing by Mary Beach is charcoal on artist's stock measuring approx. 9" x 13-1/2" and is signed by Beach & dated 1986. In addition to her legendary status as an artist, Mary Beach is well known as translator of works by William Burroughs into French (with her husband Claude Pelieu) and publisher of Beach Books Texts and Documents, distributed by City Lights.
